Mars mission - kinda sus or what?

I am not even going to lie, I was pretty scared about raising these questions about the Mars project of Elon Musk’s SpaceX because the last thing I want is to get “cancelled” but then I saw this quote by Martin Luther King Jr. that made me realise that someone has to ask these questions, right? Right?

Courage is the power of mind to overcome fear. — M. L. King Jr.

Let me begin by congratulating Elon on becoming the richest entrepreneur and on the baby too. Elon Musk has been my inspiration for years now. I have always been in his corner and will continue to be!

With that said, I do have some doubts about the Mars mission. Ideally, Mars can be habitable and eventually colonialized once we establish an atmosphere and a viable source of water. However, will the transit be for the species as a kind or as a whole, as in for all of the population? What I mean to ask is that will this mission be big enough to cater to an ever-growing population of humans, plants and animals to build a pseudo earth biome? Or will it just be a way for our species to progress?

Also, what happens to people who do not meet the threshold, monetarily speaking or otherwise, to travel through space to another planet? Will we be left here? To suffocate, while the last of our resources are used to create a new home, inter-planetarily speaking.

Charles Darwin once said “On the Origin of Species,” he elucidated: “it hardly seems probable that the number of men gifted with such virtues [as bravery and sympathy] ... could be increased through natural selection, that is, by the survival of the fittest.

Charles Darwin — The Father of Modern Biology

These days the definition of the “survival of the fittest” has a new meaning to it — basis the affordability of commodities. So, what is to say that this factor will not weigh in when we talk about one of the most expensive projects out there.

I am not morbid nor do I hold extremist/pessimistic views about Elon’s dedication for a new and improved society, but I am a bit too attached to the Earth, after all, it has always wrapped its hands around me to make me what I am.

In my view, we should definitely explore what is new and within our reach but we need to think about the planet that gave us everything. Sustainable development is the only way forward and nothing should take that away from us. Protect Earth at all costs.

Ps: I hope Elon sees this because I would love to interview him, I have so many questions about the mars project. The guy is a genius and may actually have some aesthetic ideas and solutions to my problem.
